4 Years

I didn't realise that last week was my 4 year blogoversary !! If somebody had told me back then I would still be writing in my blog I would have thought, yeah right ! The fact is, I love my blog, I love that I can tell my story, I love that I can express myself, I love that you read, I love that you comment, I love other bloggers, I love my lurkers. I just love it ! I don't think I write well, that is why I never thought I would still be writing ....but I try and get things out there the best I can.

The reason I first started writing my blog was because I was feeling lost and alone. We had found out that Max was azoospermic and we were considering using a donor. Who do you go to to speak to about such taboos ? Male infertility. It was easier to get it all out here rather than to embarrass family and friends about such a topic. I found other people in the same boat I could connect with. It took a while to pluck up the courage to actually leave a comment on someone elses blog but soon realised that that was the only way other bloggers would also connect with me. They would read my story and feel less alone, we would learn from each other. There was and still is so much support it is amazing. Thank you to all for making my journey a little easier. I know I have lost some readers along the way now that I am pregnant. I totally understand that but I have some new readers who connect with the present and that is the way life goes. We all cross paths at different stages depending on which road we are traveling.

There have been a hell of a lot of ups and downs in the last 4 years with many posts written through the blur of tears but I have also shared wonderful times had too, usually by means of photographs.
My blog is no longer just about IF there is now pregnancy and cancer involved but it is still my space to come to when I am feeling lost and alone or just to tell my story, which is what it was always about. I am not sure where my blog will go once Doudou arrives, I haven't given it much thought yet. For now we will take one day at a time which is our motto in life these days.

My blog has gone through some make-overs over the last 4 years, this look is by far my favourite and I am happy for it to stay like this for some time.

I have met so many wonderful people through my blog, not only internet friends but also in real life and from all parts of the world. There are still so many of you I would love to meet and hope to one day.

I ask for one blogoversary wish from all of you and that is, please leave a comment. From long time lurkers, regular readers and those of you that have just stumbled across my blog, yes that means you ! Just pop in and say G'day.

I commented for the first time a couple posts ago on what to tell people who say Doudou looks like Max, but have been reading you for ages. I've never gone through infertility but have several friends that have. I think reading blogs about the struggles people have had, has helped make me a better friend/support to them. And for that I am grateful that there are blogs like yours out there, so that I can help my friends, either with information, words of support or what words NOT to say :)

Happy Blogaversary!!

Hi! Happy Blogoversary!

Long time mostly lurker. Like over two years for sure. Regular reader (you're in my RSS, so I never miss!).

Thank you for sharing your story with us. I've found inspiration and some strength at times that I've needed it, and I am way too belatedly saying thank you.

Hugs to you and Max and Doudou.

Happy Blogoversary!

I have been following your blog for quite a while now. I remember feeling really excited at first about finding a fellow Aussie!

I am sorry about not commenting as often as I should, but this because at times, I struggle to, I just do not know what to say. Your journey has been an incredible one of passion, sadness, and joy: it has inspired me in so many ways, I just struggle to express it!

But know that I am here: that I am reading...and listening! :) Please keep sharing!

Hi Vee,
Delurking from Melbourne .. I've been reading your blog for a couple of years after stumbling across it in my quest for information about my own IF at the time (I'm happy to say I have since become a mum).

Your blog is in my RSS so I never miss a post. Your strength is my inspiration.

I have followed your blog ever since you first started and have shared your tears and joys as if you were sitting next to me. Many times I have wished I could reach out and give you hugs.

I look forward to watching doudou grow up on here in the future.

Happy Blog-day Vee, not long till your other significant milestone now! Congrats on creating something so wonderful. I find your writing style very direct, honest and funny. I especially like your post titles. That might be all you have time for in a while, but I'm sure everyone will enjoy them all the same! :)

G'day! Congrats on your blogoversary!

I think I first found your blog through Topcat. I have laughed with you on some posts and shed a tear on others. I love that you take the time to comment on my blog even though you have so much going on yourself.

Here's to many more years of blogging and connecting. Cheers!
